Fergus boasts a vibrant and growing community located in Wellington County. Historic roots, natural beauty, open space, and proximity to major cities make Fergus a traveller's delight. Its natural surroundings of Belwood Lake, the Elora Gorge and Conservation Area, and the Grand River appeal for a multi-day stay or a day trip to this quaint town formerly known as Little Falls.

The Fergus Market offers local produce and outstanding crafts by local artisans. Historical data indicates the falls directly behind the Fergus Market gave Little Falls its name. Centre Wellington, embracing Fegus, Elora and Belwood, is within a 15-30 minute drive to Canada's Technology Triangle (Guelph, Cambridge, Kitchener, and Waterloo).

The Highland Games and Scottish Festival, and the Fergus Truck Show top record crowds of 30,000 annually. In 2003, the nearby Elora Racetrack and Slot Machines opened and has been well received.
