A United Empire Loyalist settlement of 1784 that grew to be a thriving industrial town, Cornwall is the largest Ontario town on the St. Lawrence River. It is the headquarters of the St. Lawrence Seaway Authority and location of the Seaway International Bridge that links the United States and Canada.

A recreational bike and walking path along the scenic St. Lawrence River is a favourite of locals and tourists. The Cornwall Community Museum in the Wood House houses exhibits and artifacts reflecting Cornwall's industries and talented artisans.

Cornwall accommodation offers picturesque bed and breakfasts, some of which are original homesteads lovingly restored for the comfort of tourists.
