Picton, a small historical gem of a town, located on Lake Ontario, in Prince Edward Country on the Isle of Quinte, was incorporated in 1837. Sir John A. MacDonald, Canada's first Prime Minister, grew up and practiced law in Picton.

Picton offers a rich variety of entertainment, recreation and excellent shopping opportunities. There is something of interest for all ages. Tour the dozen or so local wineries, cycle and horseback ride round the County, bird watch in the many beautiful conservation areas, or perhaps visit Macaulay Heritage Park, one of the many restored historical sites. These are just a few of the wonderful activities offered in and around Picton. Fine dining opportunities abound and you can hone your cooking skills at The Waring House Restaurant, Inn and Cookery School.

Picton accommodations range from picturesque country inns, resorts and lodges to cozy bed and breakfast farms.
