Located on the shores of Kempenfelt Bay, Barrie was historically a resting place at the end of the Nine Mile Portage Trail between Lakes Simcoe and Huron. Settlers arrived after the War of 1812. However, it wasn't until the completion of Hwy 400 in 1950 that this beautiful area truly blossomed.

Barrie offers an amazing array of activities throughout the year such as: water-skiing, sailing, tree-top walking, hiking, skiing, skating, ice fishing, sleigh rides, and more depending on the season. You can book a lunch or dinner sightseeing cruise on Lake Simcoe or spend an evening at one of the live theatres. Plan an outing to the Annual Kempenfest, one of North America's largest outdoor arts and crafts festivals. You can meet some of Barrie's talented artists at the Images Thanksgiving Studio Tour and at the same time, marvel at the spectacular fall colours.

Barrie accommodations offer something for everyone from hotels, motels and inns, to bed and breakfasts, apartment suites, cottages and campgrounds.

We are conveniently located near Georgian Downs, the Barrie Curling Club, Allendale Recreation Centre, National Training Rinks and the Georgian Mall.
