Milton, a quaint small town community originally known as Martin's Mills, is now one of the fastest growing areas in Southern Ontario. The first Town Council met in 1857 in the building now housing the current Town Council. Centrally located, Milton is minutes away from commercial, industrial and business enterprises in the Greater Toronto area.
Situated in the shadow of the Niagara Escarpment, the Milton area offers excellent hiking, biking, rock climbing and skiing opportunities. Ride the rails in restored antique streetcars at the nearby Halton County Radial Railway Museum, Canada's first and Ontario's only operating electric railway museum. In the Fall, visit Chudleigh's Apple Farm. Pick your own apples and enjoy or take home a fresh-baked pie. Don't miss the annual Milton Steam Era Show on Labour Day weekend featuring hundreds of lovingly restored antique farm equipment machines and vehicles slowing puffing their way around Milton Fairgrounds.
Milton accommodations include a variety of comfortable hotels and motels.
