A settlement dating back to the early 1800s, this charming community on Lake Ontario was Canada's training school for Secret Agents during World War II. Camp X Intrepid Park is accessible from Whitby's Waterfront Trail, part of a 300 km (186.4 mi.) trail from Burlington to Trenton. Heritage Buildings of architectural significance have been preserved for future generations.
Whitby harbour protects a yacht club, marina and boat launch. The relocated 1903 Victorian Train Station, housing The Station Art Gallery, displays changing exhibits of local and Canadian art.
