A picturesque town on the shores of the majestic St. Lawrence River, Brockville is a boater's paradise. Magnificent historical stone buildings reflect the opulence of the past. Museums and Edwardian mansions display architectural dimensions and interesting furnishings of the time.

Settled in 1785 as a Loyalist community, Brockville was originally named Buell's Bay after founder William Buell. The name changed to Brockville in 1812 in honour of Sir Isaac Brock, a hero of the War of 1812. Brockville's first industrialist was Daniel Jones, who built a sawmill on Buell's Creek in partnership with William Buell in the mid 1700s. Tanneries, tinsmiths, and shipbuilders contributed to the economic development as it thrives today.

Close to the Thousand Islands resort area, Brockville is a unique centre for tourist and boating enthusiasts.

Major chain hotels, motels, quaint bed and breakfasts, campgrounds, and resorts are gems of Brockville accommodations.
