Goderich Ontario sits on the shore of Lake Huron and touts itself as the prettiest town in Canada, an assertion to which a number of other towns likely beg to differ.  Regardless, the sunsets viewed over Lake Huron are spectacular.

However, when visiting Goderich and trying to decide its relative aesthetic value, make sure to check out The Huron Historic Gaol, a National Historic Site (April to October). Creepily, this is the site of the last public hanging in Canada; subsequent hangings were not public and continued until 1962. Two key museums include: The Huron County Museum and The Marine Museum.

Goderich has 3 public use beaches from which you can enjoy the mile-long wooden boardwalk.
