Historic Napanee is a charming community with a Victorian flavour, its roots in both the Mohawk Nation and United Empire Loyalists. Canada's first Prime Minister, Sir John A. MacDonald, regularly visited here with his kinsman, Allan Macpherson, a Napanee entrepreneur. Today, the 1826 restored Macpherson Home and historic gardens are open to the public for tours. As well, Napanee is famous as the hometown of singer Avril Lavigne.

Enjoy Napanee's lovely Waterfront Park and Boardwalk. Dock your boat and stroll lovely tree-lined streets to Napanee's downtown. Pick your own strawberries in June and enjoy Sunday afternoon concerts at the Millennium Pavilion on the Waterfront in summer. Meet vibrant artists in their studios during the Annual Fall Studio Tour, or canoe, bike, hike or fish for giant walleye. Visit the County Museum in the former 1864 County Jail, depicting local history and housing a genealogical archive.

Napanee accommodations offer a range of resorts, inns, campgrounds, motels and bed and breakfasts.
