Meaford, incorporated as a town in 1874, is a charming waterfront community on the southern shore of Georgian Bay. The Town lies within the region known as one of Canada's finest all season resort areas.

For boaters there is a full-service marina at Meaford Harbour with its many amenities. Pack a picnic and hike one of the beautiful trails or parks surrounding Meaford. Since 1846, apples have been grown in the area. Take a Spring tour of the blossoming apple orchards filled with intoxicating fragrance and return in the Fall for Meaford's Big Weekend which includes the Apple Harvest Craft Show and the Annual Scarecrow Invasion. In summer, enjoy the vibrant critically-acclaimed Georgian Theatre Festival, located in the historic newly renovated Meaford Hall (slated for completion 2006). Be sure to visit The Big Apple, operating as a local tourist information centre, located in the downtown core.
