Muskoka is another name for Ontario's "cottage country" to which many Torontonians flock to escape the summer heat and enjoy the many lakes, forests and the rugged terrain.
Golfing, fishing, canoeing, boating or simply just sit in lake in your special beach chair that keeps you and your beer cold. No one in the Muskokas would object.
A number of lakes including Georgian Bay offer cruises to explore the area. Georgian Bay Islands National Park is near Honey Harbour and is home to local wildlife. Algonquin Provincial Park can be accessed from the Muskokas.
Bracebridge and Huntsville (which hosted the June 2010 G8 meeting) are key towns in the region with their own character and amenities.
Muskoka accommodations include hotels, motels, bed and breakfasts, campgrounds, cottages and cabins.
