Woodside National Historic Site

The boyhood home of Canada’s longest serving Prime Minister, William Lyon Mackenzie King, the Woodside National Historic Site features a beautiful 1853 home which has been completely restored to its 1890’s Victorian state, as well as beautiful grounds that were saved from developers who intended to raze the property and build a housing tract during the 1940s. Joseph Snyder Haus Museum and Gallery

You’ll find this wonderful community oriented historic site and gallery at 466 Queen Street South in Kitchener; while it is a small venue, it is one that is well worth a visit. Centred in the heart of historic downtown, it is located inside a Georgian frame farmhouse which was built by Joseph Schneider, one of the Kitchener-Waterloo region’s first pioneers. Built just after his arrival in 1816, the site features exhibit galleries, a resource library, and an artifact vault. Special events and different programs take place here throughout the year.

The Children’s Museum

Featuring five floors filled with activities to stimulate young minds and excite the senses, The Children’s Museum features a number of events for kids of all ages. Offering displays that range from art to technology, the museum is located at 10 King Street West, in Kitchener.
