Lake Ontario's shore is dotted with lovely lakeside towns and is framed to the north by the landscapes of the Northumberland Hills, both of which produce wonderful fruits and vegetables.

Brighton's Presqu'ile Provincial Park is worth the visit with its lighthouse and bird migration route.  Port Hope is a lakeside town featuring the Canadian Firefighters Museum and the Capitol Theatre, built in the 1930 for new "talkies". Although there are towns in Eastern Ontario that would disagree, Port Hope touts itself as "Antique Capital of Ontario."

Museum and history fans should check out the Barnum House Museum near Grafton and the Proctor House Museum in Brighton

Make sure to enjoy hiking in the Ganaraska Forest, the largest forest in Central Ontario.

Lake Ontario Ports of Call accommodations include hotels, motels, resorts, bed and breakfast and campgrounds.
